Dotsero: A Smooth Jazz Group From Colorado
I want to share one of my best smooth jazz groups I’ve ever seen or heard. They are named Dotsero, after a small town in Colorado. They are based in Denver. I used to make it a point to see them play anytime they came to Colorado Springs and often went to Denver to see them play as well.
If you like smooth jazz, you will love Dotsero. Surprisingly, I can’t exactly recall how I came to see them. I am pretty sure that I was in line for tickets to Kenny G and someone in the line was talking about them. This was in the early 90s. I don’t recall what they were saying but I knew they sounded like a group I had to see. And they were. They have been a favorite since.
Take this glowing recommendation for example. A reviewer on Amazon.com said this, “Perhaps the highest praise I can give Dotsero is to tell you out of the over 600 CDs I own if I had to keep only 25, Jubilee would be in that group.” Jubilee was an early CD of theirs and I would completely agree with this opinion.
To hear their music, visit Dotsero.org and listen for yourself. You can even download one of their newest songs free right now. And if you ever get a chance to hear them live, they are a GREAT live show!
I am waiting patiently for them to play here in the Valley. I will be there.
My Daughter the Prognosticator
Congrats to Beth, my daughter, who for the second year in a row has won her bracket for the NCAA Tournament. She has called her Dad for some advice, but I think I will be calling her next year for her picks!

I need to check these guys out the next time they play in Colorado Springs. I’ve noted their appearances in the past, but just haven’t felt like attending. I will see them next time out and give you a review.
