I Don’t care about your blog — T-shirt
In the spirit of cooperation and good humor, I showed my support for my friends favor of the I Don’t care about your Blog t-shirt. I actually wore while hiking Camelback Mountain on Monday, Memorial Day.
I was anticipating some kind of response as there were hundreds of hikers on the trail. No one said a word! I did catch quite a few glances and looks at it though. I even heard a comment from a guy to his female friend that might have been related to the shirt. He said, “I at least withhold judgment.” Hahaaa. I so wanted someone to say something and I could respond with, “It’s a joke, people!” Then they would probably say something like, “No, you are a joke!” Whatever.
Anyway, I like the shirt. It is available at Holger’s website here: I don’t care about your blog. There are a number of humorous choices, such as Tornadoes fear me!
Which brings me to this point. My blog is going on THREE months old. I have been thinking about it and re-evaluating its direction. I am thinking of focusing its purpose on the life and living from Arizona. That would still allow me the room to ramble and write on things I find relevant and important.
What do you think. C’mon, if you really don’t care, give it to me! What have you thought was good about the blog thus far, and what don’t you care for!! Your feedback in the comments is appreciated.
And I will have a short report on my 2nd hike up Phoenix, Arizona’s most famous landmark shortly. And you all know you love this blog!
For now, here is one of my pictures from the hike:

Way to go, Phil.
Personally, I have definitely received comments when I’ve worn that very shirt in public!

I always read your blog. I don’t always comment, but I think I’ve read every post. I can’t believe it’s been 3 months!!!

Happy anniversary to your blog!
Maybe people didn’t say a word about your t-shirt because they felt intimidated.
Thank you,
Holger

For a 3 month old blog, its already pretty popular. I mean, you get at least several comments per blog post. There are many blogs out there that are years older, more active with the blog owner posting more than you do, and dont gather a single comment. I’d say stick with it.

That shirt cracks me up. Wear it enough and you will surely be run out of town.

Oh, I read this blog entry more closely. You asked:
“What have you thought was good about the blog thus far, and what don’t you care for!!(?)”
I LIKE: Authentic personal disclosure. Arizona photos and adventures, but only if there is at least some kind of disclosure in there. Oh look … a cactus … a sunset … with little elaboration isn’t enough. Keep being real.
I DISLIKE: I still don’t know what the hell this “life crisis” is all about. All I know is you’re turning 50 soon and it has you thinking and reflecting, and somehow this blog is an expression of it. Okay, that’s nice. And?

This blog is a nice distraction from work
It’s cool to read a “real” blog by someone I know. I actually enjoy the “random” topics…I understand why you may feel a need to narrow your focus somewhat, but I don’t think you want to limit yourself too soon. Let it go where it will, I say. As Stephen King says, “the stories write themselves.”
What don’t I like? Ok, I know you’re the (former) English teacher, but what’s with the phrase “living from Arizona?” I get “BEING from Arizona” or “living IN Arizona” but until now, I’ve never heard anyone say they “live FROM” anywhere. Maybe it’s a regional speech thing (i.e., soda vs. pop)?
