Maybe you could start at 2 am. :-) We've been doing moderately steep hikes around here to get ready to hike Ajax this summer. Sometimes as I'm struggling uphill I think to myself, "Why in the hell am I doing this?!?!" Then when I get home I think of how much fun I had. It's a good kind of sore feeling. :) I hope you find some hiking opportunities this summer! My wife said she "died" of heat there when visiting them. But it was cool to sit in a hot tub outside on Christmas. She also told me about the "stone and cacti" gardens there.
