Oh Vikki! It has been so cool to have reconnected with you on FB and see how exciting life is for you in that other part of the world. I have many fond memories of having you in class and yearbook. hey Phil! the teaching world was sorry to lose you I am sure! you have always been one of my favorites and I am sure that you have had many students since then that feel the same! 8th grade english at Challenger was my favorite subject due to your teaching as well as yearbook! i still remember those times fondly! blessings! Thanks for the recommendation. I actually already picked it up from the school’s professional library, along with many other books. But now that you’ve recommendended it, I’ll get right to it!

Carol — Check out the book by Wong, The First Days of School! It is a great resource regardless of the grade level you will be teaching. Congrats on becoming a teacher.

Thanks for your insight. I’m starting my first year of teaching this fall, and to be honest, it’s a little scary. It’s a change of career for me, and I hope to last longer than the projected three years. I look forward to the challenge, but I’m sure that after twenty years, I’ll be ready to retire.
