Historic Inauguration of President Barack Obama
Barack Obama became the 44th President of the United States today. The Presidential Inauguration is historic in and of itself, yet today it was true more so. Today demonstrates how good and unique this country is. It’s a country, under God, that ensures the inalienable right to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness and given time, rights injustice and wrongful doing here and around the world.
I was talking with a lady today who lives in the South and is African-American. She had watched the inauguration and said she had never been prouder or more excited. It was very hard to express in words how deeply she felt. I can only imagine how she must have felt. The emotion in her voice really expressed it all.
Here is a photo, taken today by the GeoEye satellite.

The image is of the United States Capitol, Washington D.C. on Jan. 20, 2009 and commemorates the Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
America is a special nation.

Hi Phil, enjoy reading your writings! Don’t always take the time to comment though. That is a neat areal photo. I can’t imagine being in that crowd. I have seen that park wall to wall on a 4th or July weekend, but dang, that is a lot of people! Glad all went well and no problems.
Oh, I think Obama is the 44th.

OMGosh … haha … I confused the 43rd SUPER BOWL with the 44th Inauguration!! I had been thinking how close of a coincidence this almost was. Thanks for setting me straight.
The satellite images are such a neat perspective. At the website of geoeye you can see the length of the whole mall. I have visited one time as well. It was a trip I’ll never forget.
