Favorite Android Apps :: Smart Technology for Smart Phones by Smart People
My favorite Android apps
If you are a smart phone user, you undoubtedly have a favorite app list. I find it hard to keep up with the awesome things that having a Droid allows you to do that make life easier, more fun, and informative. Here is a start to some of the apps I find myself using the most.
Pandora
This app is really the best, probably because Pandora is the best. It has always worked great with my Droid. I prefer using Pandora than listening to my Mp3s. The ability of Pandora to select and find music based on your preferences keeps it fresh. I’ve found so much new music listening with it and recalled so much as well.
QuickPic
Just found this based on the recommendation of Twitter’s @androidcentral. QuickPic has been around awhile and as reported, far better and faster than the Android Gallery app. I downloaded this today and looks to be living up to its reputation.
If you are a tweeter, my favorite app to using Twitter is now the Twitter app. Over the past two years, I’ve used the apps from Seismic, Tweetdeck, Tweetcaster (which I still have and use as well), and it seems a few others. The Twitter app itself has become my preference. It is simple to use, navigation friendly, and works most of the time.
Google Maps
I pretty much like everything from google. The maps app is accurate and offers all of the details you get from your desktop. Info like distance, Place pages, recommendations, reviews, search, numbers, street view … it is all there.
Shazam
Shazam is such a fun and helpful app. How many times have you heard a song playing and wondered who it was? Shazam tells you. Most of you probably have this app and use it. I don’t use it as much as I should because I often forget I have it! I believe there is also a monthly allowance/limit on number of times you can use it for free, but I still think it is one of the coolest written apps.
I also recommend Android Central for finding information on the Droid and keeping up with the fast changing environment within smart phones. I like their weekly report on recommended apps.
Do you have a favorite Droid app? I invite you to share it in the comments.
