Visalus Challenge Day 66 of 90 :: 17 lbs LOST!
In my 9th week of the Visalus Challenge and my pants are falling off at 189lbs – down from 206lbs.
This was a surprise. I weighed 189 pounds on Monday morning! Couldn’t believe it as I have been very limited on my activity because of my knee. What is the secret? There isn’t one.
Since starting the 90 Day Visalus Challenge, I have taken it one day at a time and replaced my $12+ lunches with the $1.50 Visalus shakes (Update: my shakes are costing me $0.00!! Tell me another company that this is possible with). Everyone that has joined the challenge with me has been losing weight … at different rates. We are confident that this is not some temporary diet because the focus is on eating better, improving our nutritional choices, increasing our activity, and sharing the challenge with others! Amazing the accountability built into a goal when you are wanting to be sure your example holds up with others, not to mention the fact that Visalus has an unbelievable promotion that if you invite 3 others to join you, your shakes are sent to you free.
I am now just 3 pounds away from my goal of losing 20. Again, besides being able to wear clothes I haven’t touched in years, (I really had started thinking I should give those jeans away as I thought there was no way I could wear them again), I am feeling good knowing the dramatic health benefits that result from maintaining a level of healthy weight. The shakes are unsurpassed in protein, vitamins, fiber, pre-biotics, minerals, and other essential supplements. The shake is Kosher, gluten and lactose free.
Here are three things I think one must do once starting the Visalus Challenge:
- Dramatically cut sugar — that means those things that turn to sugar in your body, like breads and pastas. CUT them back. Careful taking the shake with orange juice … way too much sugar in it.
- EAT! Yes, find fresh type foods that you can eat all day if necessary. Don’t go hungry. I’ve munched all day on things like fruits and vegetables (carrots excluded). Nuts, even meats. I eat when I am hungry.
- Stay with it. I decided when I started that I would do this for NINETY days and report it honestly on the blog. I have been surprised when some have decided to quit when the weight they were losing wasn’t enough. ?? Why quit when you are losing!? Cathy, who was into Week 2 before she saw any loss, comes to mind as one who understands you don’t quit!
Next, what about the 3 for free promotion and what I plan to do after this 90 Day Challenge ends … in 30 something days.

HI TBM … that would be frustrating. Weight loss is very individualistic .. it’s not like some who say just do “this” and you will lose.
I am goign to get my final update on my first 90 day challenge as I have finshed it. My main realization is that this isn’t about weight loss as much as it is about lifestyle changes. Those include what I was eating, how much, and increased exercise — as in getting up/out and moving around.
Thanks for reading and hope you come back!
