The temps are starting to become quite comfortable. I actually have gotten out a bit lately in the evenings for a hike on the camelbacks. I always try to take the camera as the nightly sunsets are stunning — EVERY night. The locals/natives, as I’ll call them, sometimes take these for granted in the same way I used to take the impressive mountain views in Colorado as common place.
This was from a park just north of the 101 on 59th Ave., I think. It was August 31st.

Beautiful photograph Phil. I am missing Arizona so much!

You get to see sunsets like this every night? Now I’d say that’s definitely better than TV.

Ok Phil…
Maybe I’ve taken one too many psychology classes, but I think you’re starting to get a little morbid on me. First it’s the big “50″ blog that’s closed to comments, then you don’t respond to my heartfelt birthday wish on Facebook (or was it Myspace?…I’m forever getting those mixed up!) and now it’s all these sunset pics. Yes, they’re beautiful…but I want to see a sunRISE! A new dawn! A brand new chapter in the journey that is the life of Phil Ladden! Seriously though, I do hope you’re having a good year!

Thanks Brandi! I am sure you are missing AZ. It is one of the very few places that can compare with a state like my previous one, Colorado!
Telluride Lisa — YES, there really is a stunning sunset here every night.
Northener Lisa — First, from a NObama in NOvember supporter ( :)thanks Tom for that phrase) and if that wasn’t bad enough, a long time Viking’s sufferer, I would think you would be able to distinguish morbid from maybe just being a little stuck in all this change I am dealing with — Ha-Haaa! I do Thank you for the birthday wishes and Pat’s too. I will take a knee in punishment. I really like your perspective for 50 and I do have that focus as I see this year as one for significant growth. ((I start a Masters in Adult Ed next Tuesday!)

Hey, good for you on the new MA program! I always knew you’d come back to the “dark side” (education) someday…
P.S. I’m still undecided about NOvember. I just happen to hate our current governor and I was kind of hoping McCain would pick him as his VP running mate so we could get him out of MN. But then if McCain keeled over, we would have all been screwed. President Pawlenty? Forget it. That’s when I pack up and move to Canada.
P.P.S. With regards to the Vikes…in Gus we trust!!
