The New Political Correctness
If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!
Now here’s a bumper sticker that really sums up, in my opinion, the truth of this election — unfortunately. I can remember every election since the early 60s. Kennedy, LBJ (for the USA), Nixon, Ford, Carter, Reagan, Clinton, Bush, and Bush. It’s not about the parties any more. We’re screwed.
I was driving up the 51 today and on the back of a Honda Element was a single bumper sticker. We’re Screwed ‘08. Ironic political correctness. How true.
Is it really going to matter?! The past few days I have teased those that are against the bailout if they are now going to praise the Democratic Congress for rejecting the Bush plan for the bailout. The Congress is actually doing what they are fervently opposing.
Politics is truly a screwed up business and has brought the country to what we see now.

The Dems didn’t reject the plan that went to a vote, House Repubs did. Lo and behold, the sun has risen at least twice since then.
Politics should NEVER be about the party, but instead about the issues at hand, Political affiliation gives individuals an “out” that causes them to line up behind the party of choice, and spew party line drivel, all the while allowing real issues to go unattended, or abused. I’m sick to death of party affiliation…

Here’s a quote from MSNBC: ** Ample “no” votes came from both sides of the aisle, but Democratic leaders managed to persuade more than 60 percent of their members to back the measure, while more than two-thirds of Republicans balked at spending so much taxpayer money just before the Nov. 4 elections. **
Now, the DEMS are in control. Had not almost 40 percent voted along with the righteous Repubs, the hated bailout would have passed! OMG! As a wise pundit has often said, “C’mmmmmmmmmon!!” Get behind the DEMS and give credit to them, all you who are card toting respectable REPUBS!
Did you see that Nobama and McCain were no shows on the vote? I think there is a message there.
Sick of party affiliation? Me too. That’s why I see myself as a Centrist. I look at BOTH sides and make a correct decision! Ha-Ha

Both Pres candidates are quite supportive of the “bailout” in public. Regardless of whether they vote yes, no, or not at all, the Senate will pass the bill.

Holy cow, locked out of your own blog! Sheesh that wordpress thing is problematic. I’ve registered with wordpress before, just so I could comment on peoples blogs (some of them required that), but I would later find that my login info didnt work for me. So I would have to re-register again, only to find that I couldnt log in again. Wordpress is useless. Nowadays, when I find that a blog requires me to have a wordpress log in just to post a comment, I skip it.

Can you Phil, by the way of posting a comment here, give us updates on whats going on with your blog? Still trying? Or have you thrown in the towel?

Hey Leo — thanks for asking! I have in NO WAY thrown in teh towel. As a matter of fact, I can’t wait to get back to it. I’ve missed so much and have a lot to share. I hope I have found some help to get this thing saved and back to working.
I am also 3 months into a Masters program in Adult Ed/Training. THAT has taken a toll.
The BLOG shall return, I promise.
