Today’s the day. I’ve been talking about it and thinking about it. Planning it and organizing. I also believe the process or road I’ve taken to get here was a fateful one. The goals of this blog for me encompass a wide array of personal objectives ….. some selfish and some idealistic.

The sub-title sort of sums up what I want to do. I plan to write about my views, experiences of personal achievement and the failures. And THINGS RELAVANT is my way of allowing for the expanding of topics and opinions for anything I find relevant. I jokingly told someone that it will be a combination of insight and bs. They said it sounds like it you got at least half of it right!

I’ve lived five decades. There isn’t a lot of time left. That’s not being negative. It’s REALITY. Based on the average span men live in America, I’ve got about twenty-five good years left. I’ve got kids almost that age! It goes fast.

The value in journaling/blogging has many facets. Personal growth, discipline, clarity, outreach, community, understanding, income all are documented by those with successful blogs. I think it is going to help me to stop and listen …. and help focus on what is really important.

So what kinds of things might you find here? Here’s a sampling of things that come to mind:

  • stories about the average Jack and Jill whose lives are examples of inspiration and success
  • my 40 day challenges
  • opinion….maybe even interesting
  • interviews on personal achievement from the real people (I really like reading about a first person account.)
  • affiliate marketing (huge obstacles but it is something that really interests me. I’m not talking about mlm. Keep listening.)
  • a few political opinions
  • developing the interaction of an online community
  • my videos (”You have videos?“) Don’t worry, you are not in them. Video blogging is really taking off, and I do have ideas about it. Even recently found an answer HOW to do it and was stunned how easy it is.
  • life long learning
  • financial lessons: investing, debt, saving, the new car!
  • 50 for Dummies (I’ll be 50 this year) … this is where the rambling part probably comes in. These topics will be relevant to the things I feel about reaching this age and the questions, regrets, successes, and directions now to take. And for those who relate, I welcome your advice, comments, and rambles.

So that’s a sampling. And I will welcome your participation and opinion. At this time the best way to share it will be by posting a comment.

I almost didn’t start. I started over-thinking it and thought what if it becomes a drag? So what. It’s about the doing. I am committing to one year …. and not in LEAP years. I’ll go with my plan till March 1, 2009. On that post, I’ll review the year.

Watching the BIG IDEA a couple weeks ago (a fav of mine), there was a guy on who had a very successful business, and Donny asked him if whether he had had any idea that his endeavor would end up being so successful. His reply was something to the effect that when he started he had no idea how it would work out, but one thing was sure. He felt the endeavor would be worth his time irregardless of where it ended up.

I feel the same …. with the limited time left, this will be time well spent.
