A Bucket List I can Live With

I previously wrote about the shallowness of a bucket list as it was presented in the movie The Bucket List. The problem with that list was the suggesting that it be made at the time of receiving the news that you had a terminal illness with very limited time left on Earth. I thought it unrealistic that anyone would turn to spend those last few days doing things they had always wanted to see or do and not with those closest to them — that being family and friends.
What if we take out the characteristic of one’s last days and consider having a list of things one would like to do or see while still living. Kind of a goal or dream list. What kind of things would you like to do? This would be a bucket list I could live with.
With that in mind, I thought of things or places that I might put on a list like that. I have not included altruistic things on the following. With that said, here’s my Bucket List of things I’d like to do:
- Hiking the trail at the Grand Canyon which takes you to the river bed and return
- Attending an Ohio State and [michigan] game — with the Buckeyes winning in an impressive manner
- visiting Ireland and Great Britain
- an Alaskan cruise with time spent in the interior
- cruising the Eastern and Western Mediterranean
- the hiking of at least another 14ner or two in Colorado
- spending a week in New York City
- a ride in a hot air balloon
- an Ohio River boat cruise
- playing in the World Series of Poker
- hang out on a tour with the likes of an Eric Clapton or any smooth jazz group
- (new) Sunday worship service at Lakewood Church, Houston, TX
- and how ’bout meeting someone to share them with and theirs’
These are things I will not become disappointed should I not accomplish them. There are a lot more important things to do and be remembered for. They are just some fun activities I’d enjoy while I’m able. What would you like to do if you could? (Just for fun. We’ll consider another list for the more meaningful things another time.)

Hahaha…Cale, notice the lack of capitalization.
Hail to the Victors? Thank you. The Bucks have DOMINATED the past 5 years and will continue…they got the NO. 1 rated high school player in America going there next year. He chose OSU over that team up North.
How’s it going?

Phil, seems like you could do as our friend Steve, and make some of these happen. Try to set a goal of doing at least one of these by the end of the year. “NOW IS THE TIME!”
